The Crosby Education Foundation will partner with the community to provide resources to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students in the Crosby Independent School District.
The Crosby Education
Foundation (CEF), a new charitable organization on the Crosby community
landscape is already making a difference. At a home football game
between the Crosby Cougars and the Dayton Broncos on October 28th, the
Foundation donated $1000 to the Army JROTC battalion from Crosby High
School. Accepting the award from Foundation president Earl Boykin was
Major Quenton Farr. District teachers also applied for Innovative
Teacher Grants which the Foundation will award to grant winners on
December 13th, 2011. The Foundation is only able to provide such
financial support for programs that directly impact student instruction
because of the generosity of local industry and businesses. KMCO, a
local chemical manufacturing plant, donated $25,000 to the Crosby
Education Foundation - a wonderfully significant gift made to the
ongoing instruction of Crosby’s students. Also investing in education is
the CommunityBank of Texas, N. A., which made a very substantial
$15,000 donation to the Foundation. The Foundation, whose initial
programs and funding priorities include innovative teaching grants, and
the recognition of academic achievement & teaching excellence, is
excited about these two contributors and their willingness to give on
behalf of the students and teachers of Crosby ISD. Foundation board
members, dedicated to involving the community in assuring a qualitative
education for the leaders and workers of tomorrow, invites others in the
Crosby community to join them as they continue their efforts to make a
positive impact on education.
